Kindergarten has been busy learning about apples. We've used apples in science to explore observations though our senses, as well as exploring buoyancy and life cycles. We graphed, counted, and sorted apples in mathematics. In social studies we learned about Johnny Appleseed and how apples go from seeds to the supermarket. In reading, we used our vocabulary to describe the apples.
On top of all that, we integrated Music and Art into our lesson in order to further enrich and extend our objectives! We used our descriptive words to make drawings, and Mrs. Mosley came into our class and used music to explore syllables, rhythm, rhyme and sequencing...all with APPLES. We even had student led lessons too! Who knew apples could be so much fun?!
