Tell Your Story
Trevena Taylor, Ed.D., is principal at Waterford Oaks Elementary and is truly a life-long educator. “I have a twin brother and, when we were little, I used to give him a dollar to let me teach him piano,” she laughed. As she grew older, she found other, more-willing students. In high school, she tutored students in church and did the same for her classmates in college. “There is no better way to impact lives than teaching.”
In 2006, Taylor began her career as an educator in Cedar Hill ISD. She taught fifth and sixth grade students with special needs. In 2009, she became a literacy lab teacher and in 2012 she was promoted to assistant principal. In 2016, she realized her dream of becoming a principal when she accepted the role at Waterford Oaks Elementary.
