The Cedar Hill ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to hire Carlos Lynn as the new head coach of the Cedar Hill High School (CHHS) football team. Lynn is the current head coach at Juan Seguin High School in Arlington, Texas. Prior to his current position, he served 10 years on the longhorn coaching staff and helped coach the Longhorns to victory during the 2006 5A Division 2 state championship. In 1998, Lynn was hired as the CHHS defensive line coach and in 2003 was promoted to defensive coordinator.
“Carlos Lynn played a huge role in laying the foundation for our championship program,” Cedar Hill ISD Athletic Director Gina Farmer said. “He puts us in the best position to continue the tradition of excellence and success.”
Before joining CHHS, he was on the football coaching staff at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas. “It is an honor and a privilege to return and coach this great program and exceptional community,” Lynn said. “I am truly blessed.”
Throughout his career, Lynn has received multiple awards for his coaching abilities including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle Coach of the Year, Capital One Bank Dallas Coach of the Week and Dallas Cowboys Coach of the Week.
