On Thursday, September 29, Waterford Oaks debuted their innovative signature program - Green STEM. By utilizing resources and training provided by the National Wildlife Federation, students at Waterford Oaks will be integrating environmental based subject matter into the students' daily curriculum. Dornisha Shead, Instructional Coach at Waterford Oaks stated, "The goal of the launch event was to allow children and their families to experience our approach to GREEN STEM. The staff created hands on experiences to support our goal." The school partnered with Texas Wildlife Association, Dallas Zoo, City of Cedar Hill, University of North Texas-Dallas, Trinity River Authority, Mathnasium, and Dogwood Canyon. The event proved to be a major success. They are looking forward to an amazing journey.
