Greetings LRE Students, Parents, Staff and Community,

I am so excited to have been selected to serve as the new instructional leader for Lake Ridge and I am proud to be joining the district administrative team of Cedar Hill ISD.

This is my 16th year serving as an elementary education and leader. I am a graduate of North Garland High School a suburb, just outside of Dallas, and I began my career in Austin ISD in upon graduation from the University of Texas at Austin in December of 2000. Since then I have continued devote my time to serve students and teachers in Title I schools.

You will soon learn that my main goal is always to “Keep the Main Thing the Main Thing”; Providing students in elementary school with a strong foundation in phonics, reading, writing and numerical fluency will ensure that students will be set up for success in future years so that they may access whatever career or business pathway they choose in future years.

The other thing I strongly believe in is the concept of TEAMS. At Lake Ridge, our Motto is “We are Teaming up for Success. That means that the LRE staff will be committed to working together daily to share ideas, best practices and to collaborate when it comes to determining the best ways to meet student needs. The same will go for creating strong partnerships between school and home. Our teachers will be encouraged to find ways to solicit and cultivate a culture of parent involvement and engagement as we continue to become more familiar with our parents and develop strong working relationships.

Lake Ridge also has been designated to develop a “Business and Industry” signature program whereby our students will gain exposure to business concepts like sales, profits, taxes, spending, saving, earning, and marketing. They will also begin to learn how to explore different industries that suit their passions, gifts and interests each year. By the time they leave fifth grade, all Lake Ridge Longhorns will have had hands- on experience with creating and running a small business, choosing a career field, participating in a mock job interview, creating a household budget based off the monthly income they earned form their chosen career, and they will have participated in a mock business loan application process whereby they present their business plan to local bank leaders who will decide whether or not to fund their venture.

As we say to all of our guests, “It’s a great day to be a Longhorn!” I encourage and welcome you to consider Lake Ridge as the place where your child can become engaged and excel!
