Bessie Coleman Site Based Decision Making Committee (SBDM) is a state-mandated, campus-focused advisory group that is responsible for evaluating various “school-business” subjects. We have parents, community members, faculty and staff on the committee. Our core areas of emphasis are Curriculum Campus Improvement Planning, Parent and Staff Development, and Facilities and Safety. We intend also to engage in outreach and advocacy -- on behalf of BCMS -- in the community, among our elementary feeder schools, and at CHISD. Moreover, SBDM not only has the opportunity to be informed of important school policy matters, but SBDM has the obligation to be informed and to offer its opinions and perspectives to our administration and faculty. In the end, the objective of SBDM is to continually improve the educational experience and outcome for every student at Bessie Coleman Middle School.
